Our programs focus on enhancing development at age- and skill-appropriate levels.
Youth training takes place in a group setting where teamwork is emphasized for optimal learning and social engagement.
Ages 6-9
We use a non-form-based coaching atmosphere, primarily focusing on "Guided Discovery," or coordination and motor skill development. For this age group we pair games and teamwork while jumping, running, crawling, skipping, climbing, and more.
Ages 10-13
We work on furthering coordination development through the basic principles of movement: how to accelerate and decelerate, jump and land correctly, etc. We also begin preliminary work on basic athleticism: increasing strength and agility. We do all this through team-oriented games and agility-based play. Our program encourages kids to discover, have fun, and build physical confidence.
Ages 14-18
For this age group we begin athletic training that takes kids to the starting line, offensive line, or anywhere in between. This form-based coaching method gradually brings kids up to an adult fitness level, and will enable athletic successes for high school athletes. Still, we play games and have fun.
In addition to working with children in the DC area, Ambitious Athletics works with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs coaching underserved youth athletes from around the world.
