Get to know Ambitious All-Star, Anne Quinn

1. Why do you workout?

I grew up playing sports and have always liked being active. I work out now because I have found something I love to do. Working out makes me feel good both mentally and physically. It's important to me to stay healthy for as long as possible so I can live life to it's fullest.

2. What made you seek out and join a training program rather than just joining a traditional gym?

I used to belong to a traditional gym. I would go almost every day without a plan unless I was taking a class of some sort. But even then, I would never have a direction or focus. Joining Ambitious Athletics and following a training program was such a game changer for me. I started to understand the reasons why things are programmed how they are. I started to understand why you can't just do the same thing all the time and expect to see results.

3. What do you view as your most significant health and fitness accomplishment(s) since training at Ambitious Athletics? How did you get there?

My most significant health and fitness accomplishment has discovering my love of strength training and my overall mindset around nutrition and exercise in general. I used to do hours and hours of cardio thinking I would get results, and worse, thinking that was the only way to burn the most calories. I would run myself into the ground, more was always better in my mind. I had dabbled in strength training over the years but not nearly as consistently as I do now.  Since training at Ambitious Athletics I have realized that doing more is not better and that working out can be fun! The cliche is true, you can out train a bad diet. Through lots of time, effort, and trust in my coach, I've learned that working out smarter and consistently with the proper nutrition sets you up for success both inside and outside of the gym.
