Get to know Ambitious All-Star, Susie Westrup

1. Why do you workout?

For my health and mind/body balance. It's important for me to take time out of each day to do something for myself.

2. What made you seek out and join a training program rather than just joining a traditional gym?

The additional accountability and then, the results. Plus it's nice that I don't have to think about what I'm going to do in my workout time from day to day.

3. What do you view as your most significant health and fitness accomplishment(s) since training at Ambitious Athletics? How did you get there?

I think the most significant change in my fitness has been in my upper body. Doing endless cardio and a few arm exercises could never have produced the results that (assisted) pull ups, chin ups, push ups, and all of the rows have done for my back. That strength feels great, but I learned a lot about the importance of core stability and being patient through this process. Don't ever feel defeated when doing something modified. If you work, it will come.

4. In 5 words or less, describe Ambitious Athletics to an outsider.

A Community of Everyday Athletes

5. If you could share some words of wisdom to a new member at Ambitious, what would you tell them?

If you're ready for a challenge, willing to be coached, open to joining a friendly community, and driven to be a better version of yourself, then come join us. There's no reason why you shouldn't at least give it a try. Be curious about doing something different, and odds are you'll be pleasantly surprised like I was!
