As our children grow, so should our role as a parent and health role model, educating our child about healthy foods and better choices. Getting them involved in the grocery shopping and food prep is crucial for helping them understand what we like, eat, and why.
My love for training stems from the activities I did with my dad at the gym, in the batting cage, on the golf course, on roofs, and everywhere in between prior to his aortic dissection. And my pride in and passion for training grew from being able to do so much with him as he worked toward recovery. The memory of my dad reminds me to treat every client the way I would treat him.
Ambitious Athletics is full of some of the best and most supportive people you will ever meet. I bet everyone of us felt nervous or not sure if they really belong there when they first joined. I know I did, and I was already friends with Carmen. Just have fun and try to do the best you can. You will only get better.
If you could share some words of wisdom to a new member at Ambitious, what would you tell them?
Trust. Trust the system to produce results for you if you commit and put in the hard work. Trust your coaches and classmates to know how to bring out the best in you, and to always have your best interests at heart. Most of all, trust yourself and know that whatever you think you’re capable of at any given time, you’re always capable of more.
I can assure you that when you’re 35, 45, 55, or 65 years old, no one is going to be talking about their bench press; they’re going to be talking about their joints and how good or terrible they feel.
